Alana
I am so thankful that you are able to be with your family during your rehabilitation and that you have such a wonderful family to support you through this hard time.
In 1995 I was hit head-on at approximately 65mph, I suffered a lot of injuries along with brain damage. I was told I would never walk again and may not be able to get full brain function back - but God had different plans. I am not only walking, but running approx 7 miles a day and I function as well as I ever did, my thoughts and conversations are very clear and precise. Yes my joints where most injuries were sustained ache on cold wintery days or when the pesky fronts come through but I cannot complain, I am a walking miracle. When they got me out of my car the police officer looked at me and said, "Ma'am there's someone up there wanting you alive because there's no way you should be."
I pray that God can turn this accident and rehabilitation around and use it for His glory! You have been very much in the public eye and so by your positive attitude and outlook can be a testimony to many.
I wish you all the best and know that good things will come from this (even though at times I'm sure you'll wonder how) just trust, okay?! I've been there and it will be hard but you have a wonderful supportive family who obviously loves you very very much and I know when your strength is spent you will most definitely have them to lean on so take advantage of that close bond you have and know that even when it all seems bleak that is when something beautiful is about to happen.
I will continue to pray for you and your family daily and wish only the absolute best for you!!
Take care and know many are thinking about you!

Dear Alana and family,
It is the best thing for you to return home with your family. Time and again, I have been told by doctors and nurses alike that people heal better and quicker at home in their own bed. I know it is probably not your first choice, but as Dorothy once said, "There's no place like home." We will miss you here, but we continue to pray for your recovery. May our God hold you in His loving embrace, and heal your body. May He wipe away your tears of discomfort, and relieve the pains of healing. May you use His strength to give you the same. May you return to Kansas soon. Take care and God bless.
Sincerely,
Stan and Connie Arney Wichita, KS

Alana & Family -

Just letting you know that we are still following your progress and hope everyday continues to bring improvement for your recovery. Yesterday (Sat.), we were working at our apartments across the street from where you used to live in our Hays Apartments. We took time out from our working schedule to reflect the memories we had of "Alana" for those 2 years. Looking at your former apartment, our first thought was - 2 weeks ago today was her horrible accident. We shifted gears and then had chuckle memories - seeing this little tiny busy TV news anchor on her busy daily schedule and the drive she had to follow success. It was stounding to reflect on how considerate you always were when you needed something done in the apartment, never being demanding or imposing. We recognized your kindness, consideration, and needs and accomodated your situation(s) with high priority.

Alana - continue to follow success as soon as you are rehabilitated. The world would be so much more wonderful it it had more people like you - kind, considerate, successful, accommodating, never demanding or imposing, and the lovable person you are. We hope that someday we will have the opportunity to once again meet up with you. If we know where you are and would be in that vicinity, we would go out of our way to look you up. When you are able, please keep in touch - we would love to hear from you again. God knows that he needs people like you on earth, and we hope he has heard everyone's prayers for you that you may return to your youthful vigorous life you previously enjoyed being a TV news anchor.

Alana-
Words cannot describe how sorry I was to hear about your accident this week. You have been in my thoughts ever since. I am happy to hear that your condition has improved over the past couple of days, and I know this trend will continue because you are such a strong individual and have such a wonderful and loving family and friends there to support you.

My thoughts and prayers are with you every day. May God bless you and give you the strength to continue to get better. I also send my love, thoughts, and prayers to your family.

With Love,
Joe Ficarrotta

Dear Alana,
We have never met, but I feel like I know you. I used to work with Alexis while she completed her practicum & internship at Adams M.S. As we became close working friends, she would talk often about her family and of course her close relationship with you. I know you have such a special family and they will always see to it that you have the best when you are not able to see to it yourself. I wish you good health on your road to recovery and pray that you will have continued improvements. You have made such wonderful progress! I know from Alexis that you have lots of SPUNK. You'll make it through - after all you're a Rocha!

Warmest Regards,

Lesley Morter

Dear Alana,

Happy Birthday! We love you so much and are especially grateful for the birthday that you get to celebrate this year. Your life is such a gift to all of us, and the imprint that you have left on all of us is indelible. Our lives are richer because you are in them. It really is amazing to read all of the postings from people who have known you all of your life to acquaintances, and those who know you because you are in their homes each day. You make your mark everywhere you go and with everyone you meet. We pray that your 26th year brings much joy, hope, healing, love, and happiness. We are thankful to God for giving you life and us the gift of being a part of it. While, you may just be starting out in your career, you are already a huge success as a human being! We love you and are so proud of you. We can't wait to see what trails you blaze next.

Love always,

Alexis, Matt, James, and Maggie
